Jánošíkove diery (The Jánošík Gorges) rank among the most spectacular and photogenic hiking trails in Slovakia. This unique canyon system was carved into the limestone cliffs by the Hlboký stream over thousands of years. The result is a breathtaking world of dramatic rock formations, wooden footbridges, steel ladders, and more than twenty beautiful waterfalls.
he gorges are divided into three main sections: Dolné diery (Lower Gorges), Nové diery (New Gorges), and Horné diery (Upper Gorges). Each route offers a distinct level of difficulty, scenery, and mountain atmosphere.
Ideal for families with children, seniors, and beginner hikers. The trail runs along safe wooden footbridges and educational signs. Little and big adventurers alike can easily manage the route. It features only one short, 3-meter ladder that is easily walkable even for young children.
